About Steve Papadimos
Steve Papadimos contributes to the public safety of Toledo, Ohio, by serving as a Prosecutor for Lucas County. As Chief of the Civil Division, he manages 14 atto neys. Papadimos’s responsibilities cover all phases of public law; his focus is the Senior Protection Unit.
The unit investigates claims of physical abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly. Steve Papadimos strives for immediate prosecution in abuse cases. He sees his mission as informing the public of the seriousness of the problem. Papadimos advocates a zero-tolerance approach. Under his direction, the Senior Protection Unit has investigated dozens of potential cases and maintained a good success rate.
The Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association presented Papadimos with its Outstanding Assistant Prosecuting Attorney award. He has also earned recognition as the Lucas County Employee of the Year.
Steve Papadimos actively shares the insights he has accumulated during his legal tenure. He regularly lectures on the First Amendment and has published on diverse matters of law. He wrote an article for Prosecutor, the journal of the National District Attorneys Association, entitled “Prosecutor's Civil Liability for Precharging Activities Subject to Continued Scrutiny."
Papadimos received his postsecondary education at the University of Toledo, with a BA in History. He stayed in Toledo to earn his Juris Doctorate at the University of Toledo College of Law. While at the University, he obtained Magna Cum Laude status as an undergraduate, placement on the Dean’s List, and departmental honors. In the law school, he joined the Student Bar Association and the American Society for Industrial Security.
Papadimos also holds a position on the President’s Council of the Toledo Museum of Art. His recreational time includes enjoyment of fishing, soccer, and travel.
